The Qiao Clan

Ao Luming (敖鹿命): a dragon prince, second son of Ao Sheng of the Eastern Sea, grandson of Ao Guang.
Tangyou (唐幽): a phoenix serving in the Jade Emperor’s celestial gardens
Li Wenrong (李文蓉): a human prince, son of Li Shimin, Emperor of the Tang Dynasty. A distant contender for the throne.
Lady Liuying (柳影): a snake demon skilled in embroidery, pipa, and go.
Li Liuruo (李柳箬): daughter of Li Wenrong and Lady Liuying
Luo Feiyi (罗飞伊): an eagle demon
Yildun (耶尔顿): a human woman, born of a dying tribe on the northern steppes.
Luo Xingxi (罗星西): elder dughter of Luo Feiyi and Yildun
Luo Xingbei (罗星北): younger son of Luo Feiyi and Yildun
Xiongmu (熊母): a bear demon
Yuan Po (圆婆): a fox demon
Qiao Liya (桥丽丫): daughter of Yuan Po and her human lover
Jin Si Lang (金丝郎): a snub-nosed monkey demon
Qiao Qiping (桥麒苹): a human girl brought to the Qiao by Bixian. Last disciple of Tianping Temple and failed acolyte of the Qilin Sage.

Gods and Immortals

The Jade Emperor:The supreme ruler of Heaven
The Qilin Sage (麒麟仙人): An immortal Daoist cultivator with minor favor in Heaven, who sponsors the arts and cultivation for those who wish to escape their worldly fate.
The Baihu Sage (白虎仙人): A friend of the Qilin Sage, struck down by Heaven for sympathizing with demons.
Li Jing: General of Heaven's army and holder of the Heavenly Pagoda, which was gifted to him in order to contain his unruly son.
Nezha: Third Lotus Prince, son of General Li Jing of the Heavenly Pagoda. Once battled with Ao Guang of the Eastern Sea and killed his son.
The Weaver: A goddess who fell in love with a mortal cowherd. Heaven interceded and separated her from her family, only allowing her to see them once a year on a bridge of magpies.

Demons and Spirits

Bixian (必仙): a celestial crane who has served the Qilin Sage for four hundred years.
Tudigong: earth spirits who tend the land
Shuangtou Lu (双头鹿): a deer demon
Xiu Chan (秀蝉): a collection of memories given form in the shape of a worm. Named by Bixian.
Ao Sheng (敖升): Ao Luming's father, prince of the Eastern sea. A renowned swordsman.

Humans

Consort Si (丝夫人): consort of the Tang Emperor and Prince Wenrong’s mother. A collector of the macabre and bizarre.
Chen Di (陈迪): steward and friend to Li Wenrong
Qian Hu (前虎): former tiger given human form by the Qilin Sage, now his disciple; reincarnation of the Baihu Sage
